35 Things to do Instead of Social Media

Personally, I know that I have difficulty getting off my phone sometimes and it can be frustrating when my mind wants me to be productive but my body is stuck scrolling through tiktoks. I tend to go on my phone when I’m stressed and need to be away from work and life for a while, but I promise you there are so many better things to do to keep our mind and body sharp and our heart content! Here are some ideas for the next time you don’t know what to do but know that you don’t want to be on social media:

  1. Read a book
  2. Go to the beach- even if it’s too cold to get out of the car
  3. Call a family member
  4. Facetime a friend
  5. Stretch
  6. Meditate
  7. Workout
  8. Take a walk
  9. Play with your pet
  10. Do a puzzle
  11. Grab coffee or food with a friend
  12. Put on music and just sing or dance
  13. Do a paint by number (for those of us with little artistic abilities)
  14. Journal
  15. Rearrange your room
  16. Write a letter to someone
  17. Throw a football or frisbee with a friend
  18. Bake or cook a special treat
  19. Make a string bracelet
  20. Garden
  21. Sit outside
  22. Nap (there’s no shame in it- sometimes your body needs to refuel!)
  23. Paint your nails
  24. Go biking
  25. Go shopping
  26. Have a lil spa day for yourself
  27. Go through your closet + donate
  28. Visit your grandparents
  29. Go to a religious ceremony (if applicable)
  30. Go swimming
  31. Volunteer with a local organization
  32. Go to the library
  33. Go bowling
  34. Pack a picnic
  35. Do something for yourself 🙂
